Proceedings of the Sintra international conference:
At the Edge of the Universe:
latest results from the deepest astronomical surveys
held in Sintra, Portugal, 09-13 October 2006
Contributions are due by
Friday, 1 December 2006
The conference proceedings will be edited by José Afonso, Henry Ferguson and Ray Norris, and will be published by the Astronomical Society of the Pacific Conference Series (ASPCS).
Obtaining the ASPCS author templates and macros:
Contributions must use the templates and macros available at the ASPCS Authors' Information Page:
http://www.aspbooks.org/author_information/
Please make sure you follow the ASPCS Instructions for Authors carefully - you can access these through the link above or downloading the following file:
ASPauthor.zip (includes all files required by the author, including instructions, templates, and macros).
Please note:
- Do not change the macros, especially fonts, margins, or adding in special definitions or LaTeX packages. This will prevent compilation problems and will simplify the editor's job
- Please use the following naming convention for your files: the Latex file of your text should be called firstauthorsurname.tex. Figures should be named firstauthorsurname_fig1.eps, firstauthorsurname_fig2a.eps, etc, for figure 1, figure 2a, etc.
- For citations and listings of bibliographical references, authors should use the thebibliography environment, which is described in detail in the ASPCS Instructions for Authors mentioned above.
- When using \label{...} and \bibitem{...}, make your labels unique by preceding them with (part of) your name, followed by a colon (:). Example for an author called Smith: \label{smi:fig1}
- Colour illustrations: Due to the high cost of printing colour plates, no colour illustrations will be present in the final printed volume. However, ASP does offer authors free colour reproduction in the electronic version of the volume which will be available at www.aspbooks.org . If an image is available in colour, authors should submit the colour image. The colour will be retained on the website but converted to grayscale for the printed volume - please make sure your colour image will print clearly in grayscale. If uncertain, you may submit two separate (colour and grayscale) versions.
